MONTGOMERY, Ala., January 23, 2008
- The state's Information Services Division (ISD), a division of the
State Department of Finance, announced the roll out of a new web portal
for truckers this morning. The site, found at www.trucking.alabama.gov, provides a single-source, one-stop portal for truckers in or passing through Alabama. "Alabama's state troopers welcome the
development of this new portal as a means of quickly and reliably
communicating information vital to commercial drivers, which
contributes overall to highway and traffic safety in our state," said
Col. J. Christopher Murphy, director of the Alabama Department of
Public Safety. The portal is geared toward providing
everything from online payments of trip and fuel permits to safety
issues, road rules and regulations and Alabama maps identifying welcome
centers, rest areas, emergency road closures and much more. story here
